I recently made a two-fabric version of this (it's hard to find four coordinating fabrics in a stash, especially when the stash was inherited and the majority of the fabrics don't suit your preferences!). I used solid color sheeting (literal sheeting--rejects from a sheet factory).
I made it for a leisure skirt for home wear and I love it for that purpose. I think for other purposes, such as church wear, I would want to try it in drapier fabrics, with colors and patterns that blended together more, because I don't usually wear bright, striped, foofy things to church (and the skirt does foof out some at the bottom--I think a drapier fabric might do this less).
The skirt was quick and easy. The most time-consuming part was finishing all the seams! I think next time I will cut some of the panels in double or triple length (elimintating the seam allowances, of course) so there won't be as many seams. Now that I am familiar with how it goes together I think I can do that.
The instructions were short, clear, and in plain English. I was definitely impressed. I did get confused a few times, but if I remember correctly, in every case I later discovered that *I* was the one confused and the pattern instructions were, in fact, complete and accurate.
I will be making it again--soon!
